Daina exceeds all expectations

Daina Rose exceeded expectations with a superb performance in a top trampoline competition.

The Helenswood School student finished an incredible fourth in the junior (under-18) individual trampoline competition staged at the Loule Cup in Portugal.

One of the youngest members of the England under-17 squad, Daina was the first to jump and performed two very good routines to finish day one in fourth place. She maintained this position with another impressive routine the next day and only missed out on a podium finish by 0.3 of a point.

Daina had gone out hoping to finish in the top half of the 52 entrants so was therefore overjoyed with such a high placing. The competition was streamed live over the internet and her proud parents said: “She has exceeded all expectations with her fourth place success.”

Daina also finished first in synchro and third in individual at the Abby Ayers Invitational Open in Sheffield.

She is now looking forward to competing for the England under-17 squad at the Home Nations in Gloucester later this month, as well as preparing for the most elite of competitions at next month’s World Age Group Games in Metz, France, where she will represent Great Britain.
