Davies hits 119 in Glynde win

GLYNDE & Beddingham Cricket Club won both their knockout matches over the weekend.

On Saturday they defeated Seaford by four wickets in the first round of the Intersport of Lewes Knockout Trophy as Adam Davies (119 not out) and Bob Marshall (56 not out) shared an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 181. Paul Mason took 3-38.

Seaford had scored 195-7, with skipper Colin Wells hitting 72 and James Goddard 47, Dale Tranter returning 4-24 and Dominic Shepheard 2-39.

The following day Glynde defeated Waldron by 146 runs in the National Village Cup. Glynde rattled up 248-9 in 40 overs, with Adam Maclean-Brown scoring 96, Adam Davies 53 and Bob Marshall 27. M Chambers took 6-45.

Waldron were never in the hunt and were dismissed for 102. Sam Adams took 3-11, Mark Beddis 3-20 and Joe Adams 2-19.

Matt Savage made 51 not out in Ringmer's total of 151 and Chiddingly fell 13 runs short even though Andy Samuel hit 70.
