Roffey captain Matt Davies is not concerned despite his side falling to a second successive Sussex League Premier Division defeat on Saturday.

The defending champions were on the wrong end of a four-wicket loss at Preston Nomads.

That defeat was their second in succession after being skittled by East Grinstead the previous week and sees the reigning Premier League winners down in sixth spot.

Despite that lowly league position, Roffey only trail current leaders Horsham by 54 points with a game in hand.

Davies believes his side have more than enough time to turn things around and said: “It’s not ideal to have lost two games in a row but we still have plenty of games to go.

“The league is still really tight and we are only a few games into the season.

“Our bowling really let us down on Saturday, then it was our batting the week before that.

“We are the current champions and have a lot of quality in the side.

“It’s important we turn this run around and start that in our game against Bexhill on Saturday.

“They are a strong side but if we perform as I know we can, then I’m sure we will get a good result.”
