The top two performers from each region in the UK performed to gain crucial points for their team and to earn the right to jump at NDP national individual finals in Telford in July by finishing in the top eight in their category and obtaining the relevant qualification score.
Competition was tough as the Barclaycard Arena provided a superb venue and gave most competitors their first taste of performing on this sort of stage – making the competition as much about controlling nerves as about ability.
All eight Flyers got through both routines displaying courage, strength and immense ability. Scores were extremely close in all categories.
Five Flyers made the top eight in the UK with four gaining the necessary scores to proceed to Telford.
Anya Johnston finished fifth in 15/16 NDP7, the top level of the competition, with team-mate Taylor Cleall 11th, Izzy Hauxwell and Libby Morton sixth and eighth in the under-14 years NDP7.
Ellie Morton was 11th in NDP 6 15/16 years, Sofija Kalnicenko seventh at NDP5 11/12 years, Alice Chapman 11th at NDP 4 and Toby Smith seventh at NDP 3 13-plus.
Johnston, Hauxwell, Kalnicenko and Smith all jump for individual national titles in July.
