Draw sees Glynde stay third in 2nd XI Division Two – but lose ground on top two

GLYNDE stayed in third place in 2nd XI Division Two despite this defeat away to Pulborough – although they lost ground on the top two in the division.

Glynde won the toss and elected to bat first. The posted 118 all out in 37.3 overs. Jack Fingerneissl top-scored with 44 while Alex Thornhill and Lee Atkinson added 27 and 14 respectively. James Chriss took 5-11 off nine overs.

In reply, Pulborough made light work of reaching their target, getting to 119 in 39 overs for the loss of just four wickets. James Smillie top-scored with 52 not out. Jack Fingerneissl rounded off a good display for Glynde with bowling figures of 3-36 off 16 overs.

Goring By Sea 2nd XI 258-9 (53 ov; Chris Bird 61; Chris Hunnisett 4-35) drew away to Sidley 2nd XI 187-7 (47 ov; Dane Capon 45; Ben Timms 3-51). Haywards Heath 2nd XI 79 (24.1 ov; David Woodfield 13) won by 1 run away to St James’s Montefiore 78 (34.3 ov; Russell Piper 17; David Everett 9-30 off 17.3 overs).
