England cricket ace knocks them for six

LOCAL junior cricketers got some top tips off England's woman's cricket captain Chalotte Edwards in Chichester last week.

Edwards spent three hours at sports shop Game Set & Match last Thursday where she worked with a number of budding young cricketers in the shop’s nets.

As well as local players including a mini bus of cricketers from Seaford College, some travelled from as far as London, to meet the England ace.

Everyone benefited from her expert tips and advice during the afternoon.

The event was organised by Hunts County bats, who have sponsored Edwards since she was 11 when she lived near the factory in Huntingdon.

Game Set & Match’s Ben Barnes said: “It was a great privilege to have Charlotte here and those that came to meet her had a great time.

“She gave some coaching tips to the girls and boys in the cricket nets and signed autographs and posed for pictures.

“To have the England cricket captain here was fantastic and a day that will stay with those that came for ever.”
