Fame for Academy gym stars

Gymnasts from the Gym Academy had plenty to celebrate at the 2014 south-east region women’s artistic levels competition, where they competed with 21 others clubs from Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

The standard of competition was extremely high and the results were well-deserved, showing the hard work put in by the team over the past few months.

First overall gold positions went to Georgia Dorney in the modified three 02/01 class. She also won the shield for having the highest overall score in that level.

Also first overall were Liana Dorney and Ellie Flinders (modified four 04/03), while second overall in modified six 06/05 was Lottie Gorringe.

Another first overall went to Lily Coleman-Head (modified six 04/03) and Isabelle Brydon took second place in the same category. The modified six gymnasts also gained a team gold to bring home the shield.

In the level five 06 class, Daisy Evans had a superb competition taking second place out of 32 gymnasts. In the same group Scarlett Woodall Jones was seventh, Jessica Lowe 11th and Jessica Jameson 17th.

Alice Waterworth (level 14 07 was 16th, Grace Mihell (modified five 03/02) came seventh, Mae Elliott (modified four 02/01) was eighth out of 22 gymnasts and Molly Evans (level four 03+ was 11th out of 22.

All the gymnasts maintained a high standard throughout the competition, showing the quality the club can produce.
