Fast France's stock rises at Arlington

After a week off, it was back to the thrills and spills of racing for our area's stock car and banger racers as they travelled to Aldershot Raceway.

Seasoned campaigner Jack France from Midhurst raced in the two-litre stock car formula in a competitive field of drivers. On the wide bends of the Hampshire track, he found it challenging to work his way through the pack.

In the first heat, his No245 car weaved its way through to take a strong sixth place despite hostile attention from his rivals.

The second race saw a similar outcome as plenty of pushing and shoving meant the lead changed hands several times. At the drop of the chequered flag, France finished sixth again.

With double points at stake in the final race, France’s fellow drivers were all out with the intention of boosting their own positions in the national points chart.

In a see-saw race, France found things a little more difficult before finishing a great eighth.

These results seem him cement his position in the yellow grade section in the competition.

The Spedeworth season continues at Arlington Stadium, with three formulas being showcased every Wednesday evening to the end of September.
