Five-star display from The Blues

SIDLEY United went on the rampage in a 5-0 drubbing of Ringmer at The Caburn on Wednesday night.

Goals from five different scorers made it four wins out of six so far in Sussex Division One.

Joint-manager Peter Heritage said: "It was very pleasing indeed. We were due a performance like that and the players owed that kind of result to themselves."

Paul Balch started the rout in the 28th minute with a flying header before Kevin Rose doubled the lead just 30 seconds later.

After a Terry Haworth own goal had put the visitors 3-0 up just before the break, Shea Spreafico and Mark Funnell completed Ringmer's misery early in the second half.

Sidley are back on their travels at Selsey on Saturday September 7 before visiting Whitehawk on Tuesday. Bexhill United are away to Hurstpierpoint in Sussex Division Three at the weekend.
