Flames don't know which way to turn againat Junction

Fishbourne Flames went down 21-15 to Junction, but both sides made a strong start to the new year in this closely-fought match.

A calmly-taken first goal from Laura Maddicks helped Flames settle. Junction marked tightly, but the first quarter saw Catherine Hutchin scoring three great goals from the edge of the circle and Maddicks another three.

The second quarter was Flames’ weakest though Christine Huggett made some telling interceptions.

Kylee Adams was effective on the wing. Both sides defended well and Liz Adlington was determined to keep the ball out of the Junction circle.

Flames regained momentum but a shortened final quarter thwarted them.
