Stopper Tim Roberts scored the game’s fourth goal when his clearance caught the wind and flew the length of the pitch and over the head of his opposite number Mark Zawadski, to pour salt into the wind with 20 minutes of the match remaining.

The damage had already been done however with an early goal from Johan Ter Horst, the teenage sensation just signed by Premier League Hull, and further goals from Dane Luchford and Paul Booth from the penalty spot.

After conceding the earliest of goals, the visiting Hornets competed well with a side who had not lost at their Kent home since September, before a second Invicta goal shortly after half-time knocked the wind out of Gary Charman’s men.
