FOOTBALL: County League round-up (February 7)

WICK Football Club's County League title hopes suffered a huge blow when they lost 3-0 at leaders Eastbourne UA on Saturday (February 7).

Eastbourne now head fourth-placed Wick by nine points with a game in hand.

Also in Division 1, bottom-of-the-table Worthing United lost a 12-goal thriller 7-5 at fellow strugglers Hailsham. Goals from Gavin Geddes and Andy Lutwyche had given United a 2-0 lead inside 14 minutes but they were 4-3 down at half-time.

Arundel's home match with Ringmer was postponed, as were the games between St Francis and East Preston, and Horsham YMCA against Shoreham.

In Division 2, Dan Griffin's 12th-minute goal for Lancing was enough to beat his former side, Storrington, 1-0.

James Wotherspoon gave Southwick a 1-0 half-time lead at struggling Midhurst, but Wickers went on to lose 4-1.

Jason Power and George Gaskin netted for Littlehampton in their 3-2 defeat at new Division 2 leaders Peacehaven.

Steyning Town's home game with Wealden, and Mile Oak's match at Sidley were both postponed.

In Division 3, leaders Clymping won 1-0 through a goal four minutes from time.
