FOOTBALL: Hotston takes over from Prior at Clymping

CLYMPING Football Club named Paul Hotston as their new manager this morning (August 4) after Darren Prior had to give the position up owing to work commitments.

Prior leaves without taking charge of a competitive game at Clymping, after he had replaced Dominic Di Paola, who took over at Worthing United at the end of last season.

Clymping begin their second campaign in County League Division 2 on Saturday and Hotston, who was reserve team boss at Rustington for the last two seasons, said: "I've been thrown in quite late but I'm very much looking forward to it. Frank Sumner, the chairman, is a nice guy, and I'm looking forward to the season, although we start with seven away games because of the cricket.

"It will be very difficult this season as the whole team left to go to Worthing United at the end of last season, so we're going to have a pretty young team.

"Our aim will just be to stay up. Whenever you lose a whole team, you have to start right at the bottom, build it up and see what you can do."

Hotston will be assisted by Phil Churchill.
