FOOTBALL: Peacehaven thrash Wick in RUR Cup final

WICK Football Club crashed to a 6-1 defeat against Peacehaven in the Sussex RUR Cup final on Wednesday (April 28).

Wick never got their game going and were 2-0 down after just nine minutes.

Peacehaven went ahead in the fifth minute when Callum Saunders' cross found Wes Millis at the back post. His shot came off Wick keeper Alex Bryant and rebounded off Wick midfielder Lee Barnard into the goal.

Wick had their first effort on goal in first-half injury-time but substitute Phil Turner sliced his effort well wide.

Wick's Daren Pearce shot just over on 49 minutes before Peacehaven got their fourth two minutes later through Ashley Rees.
