AFC Ringmer 4-2 Buxted

In one of only ten MSFL fixtures that avoided postponement, AFC Ringmer took an important three points and second place in the Championship against a competitive Buxted side.

The game survived three pitch inspections as the AFC squad swapped their usual warm up for pitch forks. Ringmer were rewarded with a goal after only two minutes, Sam Murray tapping in, and after home keeper Tubb had pulled off a great save Brett Johnson used his pace to set up Dale Tranter for a 2-0 half time lead.

Buxted pulled one back from a corner but from sub William’s undefendable ball man of the match Tranter volleyed in for 3-1. Not giving up, Buxted pulled it back to 3-2 and almost levelled before 18 year old Freddie Wade took over to score a sensational lobbed fourth.
