Ajax Kings Arms end their long wait for a win

There had been 203 days and even a new Pope and Arch Bishop of Canterbury since Ajax last won a League game.

That run had to end and on a freezing morning in Durrington it finally did. That didn’t look like being the case though, when BC Rovers won the first of a double header 5-0 in Division 1 of the Worthing & Horsham District League.

The second game was a different kettle completely. Andy Barr volleyed in a Brazier cross and a James Long wonder-goal put Ajax two up. Rovers pulled one back but Long’s second sealed Ajax a much-needed 3-1 win.
