Albion players due in court over sex offences

Three Brighton players have been charged by police after an alleged sexual assault and will appear in court next week.

Rising star Lewis Dunk, 20, whose impressive performances on the pitch this season have seen him linked with a host of Premiership clubs including Champions League chasing Tottenham and Newcastle, has been charged with sexual assault and voyeurism.

He will be joined in the dock by fellow Albion players George Barker, 20, and Anton Rodgers, 19, who is the son of current Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers.

Former Seagulls defender Steve Cook, 21, of St Leonards, who now plays for Bournemouth will join them at Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday, May 11 - with all four facing the same charges of sexual assault and voyeurism.

The charges relate to offences alleged to have taken place in Brighton on July 17 last year.

A fifth player, Ben Sampayo, 19, arrested at the same time, has been told no further action will be taken against him.
