£20,000 prize - it's got Bosham's name on it

Bosham are celebrating a big win '“ not in the league or cup but in the sponsorship stakes.

The Sussex League division-three team have won a package worth up to £20,000 with home improvement retailer Wickes.

The deal will include a full clubhouse makeover by Wickes and the team will receive Wickes-branded kits and will be provided with professional training.

The competition was run in conjunction with The Sun newspaper and Bosham’s match reports will feature once a month in the paper’s Supergoals section.

Bosham manager Tony Hancock said: “We’re so happy to have won this sponsorship package with Wickes. It’s a much-needed boost for all of our players, chairman and committee, and such an honour to have been picked out”

Bosham were chosen from almost 300 teams who entered the competition earlier this year.

Wickes brand marketing director Tony Holdway, said: “Everyone at Wickes is delighted to be helping Bosham FC, a village team who have been around for more than 100 years.

“The local support for the team is fantastic, and is a great example of how football can bring a community together.”
