The 18 year olds have joined the Ryman League South Division side on dual-registration forms.

While disappointed to lose the pair, Mark Beard is pleased both have continued their progression, but also hopes to have them available at Plaistow Road still at times this season.

Summerfield was released by Brighton & Hove Albion last year, while Sam, Mark’s son, has spent three seasons impressing at Loxwood.

Mark said: “Marc White (Dorking manager) rung me a few weeks ago enquiring about them. They are still learning, but on the other side of it, it is their third season in county football.

“And while they are still only 18, they have played close to 100 senior games, so do probably need to step up to continue their development.

“Marc understands they won’t play every game in the Ryman League, unless they are flying and we have an agreement which will help both parties.

“While I am happy with my squad at the moment, if I need a few in due to injuries later in the season, he has agreed to help.”

Latest additions to his Loxwood squad include former Crawley Town defender Jon Dollery and Matt Daniel, from Three Bridges.

Right-back Dollery, 23, is a former Canadian under-20 international, and Beard added: “We are also bringing in quality players.

“Jon is a Canadian internationally and without sounding big headed, not many people can get players in like that.

“Josh Courtney is also coming back from injury and Matt has come in as well, so we are replacing quality with quality.”
