Bexhill swoop for more signings

The new Bexhill United joint managers have made massive progress with their squad building process.

Although several members of last season’s squad have moved on, Jamie Podmore and Darrol Parris have brought in no less than eight new faces.

Dominic Clarke, Andy Garman, Nathan Harding and Paul Henty put pen to paper last Thursday night, while Billy Craig, Matt Dadswell, Martin Denny and Casey Ham signed on Tuesday evening.

Target man Clarke, energetic wide player Garman, the versatile Harding, tough-tackling full-back Henty and dependable midfielder Dadswell are all experienced Sussex County Football League performers.

Garman, in fact, enjoyed a brief but successful spell with Bexhill towards the end of their memorable 2007/08 campaign and Harding had a short stint at The Polegrove in the early part of last season.

Craig, Denny and Ham are up-and-coming young players. Ham, a striker who can also play out wide, was Little Common’s 16-goal leading scorer last term, forward Denny featured a number of times for Sidley’s first team albeit mainly as a substitute and Craig was on the bench for Sidley’s front side a few times.

Linton Rogers, who proved a real find for Bexhill last season after being plucked from parks football, is staying put despite interest from elsewhere, while Scott Quested, who did well for the reserves and had a brief taste of first team football at the end of last season, has also signed.
