Second half goals from Steve Earley, Jacob Shelton and Ashley Jarvis saw off second-bottom opposition in Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Elsewhere in the division, Bexhill’s crosstown rivals Little Common salvaged a last gasp 2-2 draw away to Haywards Heath Town despite fielding a depleted side as a result of injury and unavailability.

Common took a 12th minute lead when Lewis Hole received a Sam Cruttwell pass and rounded the goalkeeper before slotting in off the post. Heath dominated the early stages of the second half and levelled in the 54th minute as the unmarked Jamie Wanstall headed home from a corner.

With 90 minutes on the clock, Heath grabbed what looked to be the winner when a neat one-two resulted in Sean Ardley tapping home. Common raised their game for one final push and following a succession of corners, the ball was knocked back into the box by a Heath player and Hole made no mistake from eight yards.

Also in Division Two, Westfield made it 10 points from a possible 15 with a goalless draw at home to Broadbridge Heath. Heath boast the division’s best defensive record with just 12 goals conceded and Westfield have the third meanest defence so it was perhaps no surprise that the scoresheet remained blank.
