Konieczny managed both Midhurst and Easebourne’s under-eights and Petworth from 2005, having led the latter to the West Sussex League Premier Division in three seasons.

In 2009-10, he led the rep side to the Inter-League Trophy, before taking over Billingshurst’s under-15s in 2012 having led them to back-to-back undefeated league campaigns and a double.

Speaking about the appointment, chairman Kev Tilley said “We thought long and hard about this decision as it’s an important time for the club.

“We had approaches from elsewhere but having known Adie from his success at managing our youth teams, we felt it was important to get somebody in who not only had the necessary experience, commitment and drive, but also someone who has an affiliation with the club and understands the clubs ethos.

“We look forward to working with Adie and will do whatever we can to help in our quest for senior football status.”

Konieczy replaced Mark Betts, who stepped up stairs at the club for a second time at the end of last season.

He was thrown back into the managerial midway through the campaign after Paul Cooper and Steve Barrow quit the club after just a few months to take over at Crawley Down Gatwick.
