Brighton and Liverpool fans respond to significant Adam Lallana development

Lallana, 32, is out of contract with the Premier League champions this summer and is close to agreeing a three-year-deal with Albion.

Liverpool signed Lallana from Southampton for £25m in July 2014 and he made 178 appearances in which he contributed 22 goals and 22 assists.

During his time on Merseyside he won the Premier League, the Champions League, the Fifa Club World Cup and the Uefa Super Cup in his six-year spell at Anfield.

Brighton technical director Dan Ashworth has pursued Lallana since January and the club believe his playing style and professionalism is a perfect match and that he will be a positive influence on the younger squad members.

He will arrive on a free transfer but his wages could be in the region of £90,000 per week, which would make him the highest paid player in the club's 119 year history.

Brighton are expected to confirm his signing early next week.
