A club statement on the Brighton website read: “Supporters are advised this is a private camp with strictly no public access to either the training facility or the friendly match. Fans will be able to watch full live coverage of the match on MyAlbion TV.”

Villa were the last team Brighton played just prior to the break for the Qatar World Cup as they suffered a 2-1 loss at the Amex Stadium to Unai Emery’s team.

Brighton resume their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day at Southampton and then welcome league-leaders Arsenal to the Amex on December 31.

Dde Zerbi’s men are seventh in the league standings and will look to get their second half of the campaign off to a strong start as they try to maintain their push for European qualification.
