BBC Sport understands that the 24-year-old is close to sealing a move to the Amex from Belgian club Genk, with a medical scheduled to take place this afternoon.

The fee is believed to be less than Albion's club record £17million deal for Iranian winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar last summer.

The Belgian joined Genk in 2012 and has made 103 appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals. The winger captained the Blauw-Wit to the 2018/19 Belgian First Division A title, scoring 15 in 35, and received a medal for Genk's 2013 Belgian Cup win despite not making the team.

Trossard also spent time on loan at Belgian clubs Lommel United (twice), Westerlo, and OH Leuven.

The 24-year-old will be new Seagulls manager Graham Potter's second signing of this transfer winder after the capture of Portsmouth defender Matt Clarke for an undisclosed fee on Friday June 21.
