Brighton linked with '£28m' Europa League winning left back, agent pushes for £15m Manchester United agreement in 'a couple of days'

Arrivals at Brighton have been fairly slow this summer window with Paraguay teenager Julio Enciso, Ivorian attacker Simon Adingra (loaned to Union SG) and Levi Colwill – who joined on a season loan from Chelsea – the highlights for Brighton fans.

Potter has seen his two best players depart as Yves Bissouma joined Tottenham for £30m and Marc Cucurella signed for Chelsea in a £60m deal,

The Cucurella deal leaves Potter short of options on the left flank and they have been linked with a move for Tottenham left back Sergio Reguilon.

The former Real Madrid man joined Tottenham on a five-year contract for £30m in September 2020, following a successful loan with Seville, where he won the Europa League and was named La Liga’s best left back that season.

Reguilon has however dropped down the pecking order at Spurs following the arrival of Antonio Conte and is no longer training with the first team group.

He is said to have interest from Spain but has also been linked with Potter’s Brighton team – who started their Premier League campaign in style with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

Potter said: “You need to keep looking to see if there's anybody who can improve your squad generally when the window is open.

"We are not reactionary, we want to try and think ahead, do something that is sensible and right for the club in the short, medium, and long-term.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United may finally be in the final stages of signing Adrien Rabiot for £15m from Juventus.

The two clubs have reached an agreement on price for the France international and are slowly agreeing personal terms with his agent and mother, Veronique.

Talks between her and United transfer chief John Murtough are said to be productive with both parties said to be keen on concluding the deal in the next couple of days.
