Brighton player rules out summer exit, Burnley weigh up free swoop for midfielder

Brighton forward Percy Tau has vowed that he will stay and fight for his place with the Seagulls this summer.

The South African’s journey to the Premier League has been a protracted one, with the 26-year-old initially signing for the Seagulls in 2018, before spending several loan deals on the continent and finally arriving at the Amex in January.

Since then, however, he has been limited to just two Premier League appearances, and is still waiting on his first goal for Albion.

But despite recent reports from Belgium that he could be sold back to former loan side Anderlecht this summer, Tau himself is seemingly determined to make a go of things on the south coast.

Tau took part in a Twitter Q&A for Puma on Friday, during which one fan asked: “Would you consider a move to a different team this end of the season for more game time, and would you move to another league or even championship if that's where the deal is?"

Responding to the question, the forward wrote: "No, at the moment the focus is to fight for a place within the team."

Elsewhere, Burnley are considering a move for Swindon Town midfielder Scott Twine this summer, as per The Sun.

The 21-year-old started the season on loan in League Two with Newport County, but was recalled early by his parent club after scoring a number of stunning goals. Since then, he has gone on to register 12 goals and nine assists in all competitions, but is out of contract at the end of the season.
