After joining on transfer deadline day on a five-year contract earlier in October, the midfielder was initially loaned back to Poznan with the plan to review the situation ahead of the January transfer window.

He has made 22 club appearances and scored five goals this season, including eight in the Europa League.

He has also played six times for Poland, including four Nations League ties. He scored his first international goal in a 2-0 win over Ukraine in a friendly in November.

Head coach Graham Potter said, “Jakub has enjoyed a few really good months with both Poznan and Poland, playing in a top European competition as well as making his international debut.

“It was always an option to bring him back and have a good look at what he has to offer and how he has developed. We believe he can have an impact on the first team group.”

Technical director Dan Ashworth added, “We would like to thank Lech Poznan for their understanding and for the role they have played in his development.

“During his time with Poznan he has earned his call-up to the national team, which will have been an incredibly proud moment for both the player and the club.”
