Brighton table MAJOR eight-figure offer for player, Man United urged to plot Albion raid

Brighton took another significant step towards survival with a 0-0 draw against Everton on Monday night.

Far from being a classic, the result moved the Seagulls seven points clear of the relegation places with just seven games left to play this season.

Speaking after the match, Albion boss Graham Potter said: "I thought we had good intent.

"I thought we were the team closer to winning.

"We lacked a bit in the final third in terms of decision making and execution.

"They had four centre-backs centrally with [Mason] Holgate playing in midfield and two full-backs. [Tom] Davies is a bit more of a defensive midfielder and then the had three very talented attacking players.

"It wasn't easy to create clear chances and they defended well when they had to."

Brighton’s next game in the Premier League comes against Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

The Seagulls lost to the Blues when the two sides met on the opening day of the season, with goals from Jorginho, Reece James, and Kurt Zouma cancelling out a strike from Leandro Trossard.

Albion have only ever beaten Chelsea once in their entire history.

Over 15 meetings between the two teams, Brighton have lost 12 – drawing two and winning a solitary FA Cup tie back in January 1933.

Much more recently, a late strike from Alireza Jahanbakhsh was enough to secure a point for the Seagulls on New Year’s Day 2020, however.
