Albion have made just two permanent signings this summer transfer window so far.

Paraguay teenager Julio Enciso signed for around £8.5m from Libertad, while Ivorian attacker Simon Adingra joined for a reported £7m from Nordsjælland but was loaned to Union SG for the season.

Talented young defender Levi Colwill also arrived from Chelsea on a season loan deal but there has been little to improve Graham Potter's starting XI for Premier League matches.

Despite this, the Seagulls have had a bright start to the season as established pros Lewis Dunk, Pascal Gross, Joel Veltman, Adam Lallana and Danny Welbeck provided the backbone to Albion's 2-1 win at Old Trafford, followed by a 0-0 draw against Newcastle.

The bright start is even more impressive as Potter lost his two best players earlier this window as Yves Bissouma joined Tottenham for around £30m and Marc Cucurella signed for Chelsea for a staggering £60m.

Albion also sold defender Leo Ostigard to Napoli for around £10m, meaning the club have pocketed almost £100m in transfer fees this window.

Striker Neal Maupay is widely expected to be next out of the door as he's set to complete a £15m move to newly-promoted Nottingham Forest or Everton.

That will bring Albion's income this window to almost £115m.

It's a significant total for the club who also recently sold Ben White to Arsenal for £50m and Dan Burn to Newcastle for £13m.

It does however leave Brighton short of options and Potter will be keen to make some additions before the window closes.

Albion have been linked with a move for Villarreal's Ecuador international left back Pervis Estupinan, while Austrian international midfielder Florian Grillitsch, 26, who is a free agent after leaving Hoffenheim, remains of interest.

Meanwhile, Premier league rivals Newcastle are said to have failed with an initial £20m bid for Watford's Brazilian attacker Joao Pedro.

Watford, who have already sold Emmanuel Dennis to Nottingham Forest for £20m this window, turned down the opening offer and said they are under no pressure to sell.

Elsewhere West Ham, who welcome Brighton this Sunday, are also looking to bolster their squad and remain interested in Club Brugge defender Hans Vanaken.

David Moyes' team have made an initial bid of around £12m which was rejected but they are said to be tempted to return for the 29-year-old.

West Ham have also been linked with a highly unlikely move for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
