Brighton probably just about shaded it and were unlucky to see a second half strike from Adam Lallana ruled out for a handball by Danny Welbeck in the build-up.
Welbeck previously missed a very good chance in the first half and defender Adam Webster saw a thumping header crash back off the cross bar after the break.
Robert Sanchez was called-in for Maty Ryan and impressed between the sticks and made two excellent saves in the second half.

Great cross to set up Welbeck's first half chance. Always eager to drive forward and take on the defence. Replaced by Veltman with 10 to go

A driving force in Brighton's midfield. Recovered well from an early knock from Reed and delivered another assured display. Brighton will hope to keep him in the January window
7. Steven Alzate 7/10
Back in the team and offered good balance alongside Bissouma. Controlled and decent in possession without being spectacular. Proved his fitness and kept going until the end. Good to see him back!
8. Adam Lallana 6/10
Back in the team but not at his creative best in first half as so little space in a congested midfield. Unlucky to get his second half 'goal' chalked off for a Welbeck handball
