Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made a decent debut in the previous match at Spurs but he does not even feature on the bench tonight as regular No 1 Maty Ryan returns to the first team.

Neal Maupay is also back and he partners Danny Welbeck in attack as Welbeck makes his first start for Albion following his summer arrival.

Maupay was dropped for last week's loss at Spurs after an altercation with an unnamed teammate following their 1-1 draw against West Brom.

Leo Trossard is a surprise omission tonight and it is thought the Belgian is struggling with an injury which could see him miss Belgium's matches during the international break.

Solly March failed a late fitness test on his ankle while Aaron Connolly is back in the matchday squad but has to settle for a place on the bench.

BHAFC XI: Ryan, Webster, Veltman, Burn, Lamptey, White, Bissouma, Lallana, Gross, Welbeck, Maupay. Subs: Steele, Connolly, Mac Allister, Jahanbakhsh, Alzate, Propper, Bernardo.

Here's how Albion fans responded on social media to Potter's starting XI:

@FPL_STATS1 Maupay is back! Here's hoping he proves a point after last week's snub #BHAFC

@SamTeague28 Putting our fairly small keeper back in the nets against a team that like lumping it into the box is a very Potter thing to do. #bhafc

@Charlie_Gresty I like that team. Maupay and Welbeck up front. Would guess Lallana deeper alongside Bissouma which is positive. We arguably needed more a creative influence in there against Palace and WBA #bhafc

@IamDrBaldhead I thought Potter had a PhD in man management?? Unless Sanchez is injured, I’d suggest he’s been badly let down by his manager. Equally I doubt Steele is hugely enamoured with his “always the bridesmaid” role. #bhafc

@groddy_bhafc Happy lockdown WE ARE PLAYING 2 STRIKERS #BHAFC

@Virgos_Haircut Good to see Welbeck and Maupay starting together. Come on you Seagulls ⚪#bhafc

@BenDinnery Lamptey is fit. Welbeck comes in for his first start since joining the Seagulls. There is also a recall for Mat Ryan and Neal Maupay. March fails a late test. No Trossard or Sanchez in the matchday squad. Jahanbakhsh named on the bench.

@BhafcR Trossard reportedly injured, hopefully not serious but puts him in doubt for international games #BHAFC #UTA #brightonhovealbionreddit #reddit
