But who shone and who stuggled for Brighton at Stamford Bridge?

A series of excellent stops kept Albion in the game. Couldnt do anything about either goal.
Overall a solid performance, spoiled by the poor first touch that led to him conceding the penalty. Strode forward with confidence at every opportunity.
Another game full of blocks, tackles and raking passes. Didnt do a lot wrong and kept Abraham fairly subdued
Dealt with attacking threat with confidence. Always looking to get forward and ended up playing almost as a left-winger towards the end of the game. Unlucky with a downward header that bounced up to hit the bar
Looked to get forward as often as possible but had his hands full against William, especially in the first half. Solid display
Quietly efficient in midfield but not helped by lack of cover around him. Seemed to get frustrated at times
Started quickly but seemed off the pace. Not able to make his mark on the game and gave away some free-kicks in dangerous positions. Substituted at half time
Spent much of the first half chasing shadows and was again booked for diving. Came into the game more in the second half in a slightly deeper role and a great jinking run in the 71st minute ended with his shot being deflected for a corner
Worked hard but failed to make a real impression in the face of Chelseas high tempo. Some good moments, including a cross that was swung in, just evading Alzate. Kept going right to the end, with a great saving tackle in the 81st minute to deny Hudson-Odoi
Had his work cut out in first half tracking Barkley but as the half wore on, found time to get a bit of space. One pass released Maupay who in turn fed Gross but his shot was blocked. Seemed to pick up a knock before being substituted
Worked hard with very little support. Made great effort to close down the man in possession but ultimately, became frustrated. Touch was letting him down and picked up a yellow card for a robust challenge on Kepa. Substituted on 78 minutes
Brought on at half time and looked to attack down the left flank at every opportunity. A few decent crosses, one of which was just cleared for a corner. Looked assured in defence
Brought on after 64 minutes and immediately made a surging run into Chelsea territory. Always looked lively without too much in the way of support
Held the ball up well, as usual, but lacked real support. One long range shot just trickled through to the goalkeeper
