Bissouma,24, has been excellent for Brighton this campaign and has caught the eye of the Man City, Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Marseille.

A report in the Times today suggested Bissouma officially requested to leave Brighton this summer, which has been denied by the club.

It has though increased speculation about the player who joined Albion from Lille in 2018 for £15m.

Brighton fans would clearly be sorry to see him go but feel he's worth far more than the £30m that has been quoted in some quarters.

Bissouma's displays have highlighted his class and value to this Brighton team but Potter remains relaxed about his future.

"The exciting thing for Yves is he can improve some more," said Potter last week.

"He’s not at the top. But he’s got incredible potential and incredible talent. Like any player, we have to be honest and sensible enough to know that if [they are] good enough to play at that level and [have] that opportunity, then we shouldn’t be scared of that.

"At the same time, Yves is happy. He knows he’s in an environment here [where] people care for him, look after him and want the best for him. He’s not perfect; he’s not the finished article; he’s still got things to improve. That’s really exciting for me as a coach."

Here's how Albion fans reacted on social media.

@bhafcbreaking: Sad to see Bissouma wanting to leave but can’t blame him. He’s going to go far. Just hope he doesn’t sign for relegation rivals Arsenal. #bhafc

@RaddReynolds Didn't really make sense to hand in a transfer request so early.. Now if it comes to August and we haven't let him go, then I'd understand.

@toomuchtrossard If Biss has asked to leave, he can go. I love him, but I don't want any of our players thinking they're bigger than the club. #BHAFC

@MikeKing14_Completely get if Bissouma wants to leave, but #BHAFC have to stand firm on the transfer fee, £40 million at the absolute minimum, none of this £30 million rubbish

@JakeBarber04: Yves Bissouma we want you to stay. Get that ringing round The Amex at the City game. Louder than ever.

@AndyNaylorBHAFC Unnecessary to ask. #BHAFC Will happen naturally anyway if it’s a move up and Brighton’s valuation is met.

@Cyber_Seagull £30m You not heard of Tony Bloom #bhafc

@louisehersee Don’t know if it’s true but @Yves_Bissouma you’re worth way more than £30m and Arsenal, you’re a man #BHAFC

@AnfieldWatch Yves Bissouma has asked to be allowed to leave Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all inquired about the availability of the Mali international as they seek to strengthen in midfield.
