Brighton transfer news: Liverpool take 'next step' in Albion raid, PL rivals plot summer swoop for Seagulls star

Brighton will be looking for a repeat performance when they come up against Leeds United this weekend.

The Seagulls managed to grind out a 1-0 win when the two sides met back in January at Elland Road, and a similar result would be more than welcomed on Saturday afternoon.

Albion are currently 17th in the table, seven points clear of the bottom three with five games left to play.

While that advantage is still a significant one, last weekend’s defeat at the hands of Sheffield United represented a sobering reminder that Graham Potter’s men are not safe just yet.

With that in mind, the Brighton boss is trying to keep his side focused on the immediate challenge of this weekend’s match, rather than becoming fixated on the bigger picture.

Speaking in a press conference, he said: “My focus is just on the weekend.

“We are playing Leeds United who are enjoying a very good season, they’re in a good place, a good moment.

“You can’t worry about what other people do or second guess other things are going to happen.

“All you do is your very best and focus on our performance.

regardless of what anybody says we need to do it ourselves. We need to get the points and keep going.

“There’s lots of points to play for and everybody’s going to keep going to the very end. We have to do the same.

“We have belief, we’re together, we’re fighting and we’ll do our best.”
