Ben White was handed his first ever Premier League start for Brighton following his return from a highly successful loan spell at Leeds last season.

There is also a first outing for Adam Lallana in an Albion shirt following his free transfer from Liverpool.

Potter appears to have gone with a 3-5-2 formation. Maty Ryan starts in goal with a back three of White, Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster.

Tariq Lamptey, who arrived from Chelsea for £3m last January, will operate as a right wing back with Solly March on the opposite flank as left wing back.

Lallana, 32, will take his place in the midfield engine room alongside Yves Bissouma and fit again Steven Alzate.

Leandro Trossard and Neal Mauapy will be the front runners for this Albion team.

@LUFC_Duffy Ben White starting. Hoping he has a class premier league debut tonight. Good luck to him #LUFC #BHAFC

Loving the look of this team #BHAFC

@Berty23 That is the #Bhafc I would have picked. Looking forward to Lamptey running at Alonso. Imagine being told ten years ago that we would play three centre backs and have a Dutch international and champs league semi finalist last season on the bench. Incredible.

@bhafcsxm Ooooohhhhhh yessssssss

@bhafcbreaking Interesting team, no Mac Alister and Propper is out due to injury. Any other major players missing? #bhafc

@KeithNieland I plan to watch game with sound turned off so to avoid biased #SkySports commentators drooling about Chelsea signings without once questioning where the money came from while barely acknowledging the other team on the pitch #BHAFC

@Brightonfan Cautiously optimistic now. Interesting no Mac Allister on the bench either. Trossard up front with Maupay then, or playing in just behind? #bhafc

@drunkenstylee Come on Potter give Ali J some minutes #bhafc

@AlbionAnalytics Adam Lallana is unbeaten in his last 7 Premier League appearances against Chelsea (3W, 4D).
