Brighton still have work to do to guarantee survival following last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Manchester United. Defeat at Old Trafford followed much-needed wins over Southampton and Newcastle before the international break.

Albion defenders Adam Webster and Dan Burn have returned to training and should be in contention to feature but Aaron Connolly (foot) is doubtful, while Tariq Lamptey (hamstring) and Solly March (knee) remain out.

Everton are looking to end a three match winless run. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, sidelined of late by an abdominal injury, is back in training but Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti on Friday said he thought the England international was “not 100 per cent” and that “we don’t want to take a risk for this game”.

Andre Gomes is ruled out because of the hamstring injury he sustained in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Allan could return to action after missing that match through injury, and winger Alex Iwobi is definitely available again having also not been fit for the Palace contest, while Abdoulaye Doucoure, Fabian Delph and Bernard continue their recoveries.

"Brighton gave Manchester United a bit of a scare at Old Trafford last week, but in the end they left with nothing," wrote Owen in his BetVictor predictions blog"Everton fans will be disappointed with their draw at home to Crystal Palace last weekend, however, it did stop what was a three game losing run in all competitions.

"The Toffees don’t seem to be firing on all cylinders at the moment, and up against a tricky Brighton side, I think it could be points shared for them again. It’s 1-1 for me."
