Brighton transfer news: Spurs told to avoid Albion swoop, Big update on Tariq Lamptey's future

Brighton could take a major step towards Premier League survival with a win over Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

That will, of course, be no mean feat, with the Blues proving their newfound credentials as genuine threats at the top end of the Premier League with an FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City this weekend.

Albion have looked better in recent weeks, however, and would move nine points clear of the bottom three with a win.

If the Seagulls are to pick up only a second-ever win over Chelsea, it is likely that Yves Bissouma will have to play a key role.

The Malian has been a standout performer for Graham Potter’s men this term, and speculation has been rife about a potential summer exit.

Speaking after last week’s 0-0 draw against Everton, Potter said: "He's tried very hard to understand what we are trying to do as a team.

"He's been playing in the role often so he understands what he has to do.

"Adam (Lallana) plays an important role alongside him as well as Pascal [Gross] and Lewis Dunk behind him.

"They help him. He's taken his game forward. We knew the quality he had. It's about getting that consistency."

Brighton’s solitary win over Chelsea to date came back in January 1933.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 3-1 Blues win.

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Brighton and the rest of the Premier League, as the reaction to last weekend's action continues:
