Swansea would be keen to welcome Brewster back next season but a host of Premier League teams have also expressed their interest to Liverpool.

Despite his crucial penalty miss after coming on as a last minute substitute for Liverpool against Arsenal in the Charity Shield, Brewster's pre-season form has been good.

He scored three goals in Liverpool's previous two friendly matches, including a brace against Red Bull Salzburg.

Brewster looked certain to be out on loan once again this season but his recent displays have forced his way in Jurgen Klopp's first team thoughts - especially if Red's striker Divock Origi departs Anfield in search of more regular football.

Liverpool are yet to make up their mind on Brewster and a decision could be made on the next stage of his development when he returns from England under-21 duty.

One of the crucial factors that could delay any potential move is the Carabao Cup format. Liverpool's third and possible fourth round matches will be held before the end of September and before the close of the transfer window on October 5.

Brewster featured for Liverpool in the Carabao last season before his loan move to South Wales.

Brighton are said to be among a host of Premier League clubs keen on a one-year loan for the coming season including, Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Newcastle.

While Championship teams Bournemouth, Norwich City, Swansea City and Watford are also poised.

Albion have also been linked with a move for Almeria's Uruguay international striker Darwin Nunez and Stuttgart's talented front runner Nicholas Gonzalez.

Graham Potter's team contest their final pre-season friendly against West Bromwich Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

They kick-off their Premier League campaign on September 14 against Chelsea.
