The Romanian caught Baggies midfielder Sam Field with his elbow in the 27th minute but referee Paul Tierney did not take any action. Andone later went on to equalise and send the tie to extra-time, before Glenn Murray's double took Brighton through.

Andone has until 6pm tomorrow to respond to the charge.

An FA spokesperson said: “Brighton’s Florin Andone has been charged with violent conduct. It follows an incident in the 27th minute of Wednesday’s game against West Brom in the Emirates FA Cup which was not seen by the match officials but caught on camera.
