Bumper crop of festive football scheduled

THERE is a bumper crop of festive football planned for our local County League sides, just so long as the weather does not put a dampener on things.

Virtually the whole of the schedule was rained off on Saturday and there are fears that further weather could put paid to the festive fixtures.

In Division 1, second-placed Littlehampton are due to host leaders East Preston on Boxing Day, at The Sportsfield.

Looking ahead to the match, EP boss Dominic Di Paola said: “It’s a big game and they will be massively up for it. But, at the end of the day, it’s just three points and another game.”

Also in Division 1, Arundel play host to Chichester.

In Division 2, Rustington host former boss Jon Tucker’s Wick & Barnham United side.

All of the games kick off at 11am.

There is not much time for rest as all of the sides are in league action again on Saturday.

East Preston travel to Lancing, while Littlehampton entertain bottom-of-the-table Worthing United and Arundel are away to Pagham.

Rustington are away to Mile Oak, while Wick & Barnham host Steyning Town.

All of the games are 3pm kick-offs.

In Division 3, Clymping travel to local rivals Ferring, with a 2pm start.
