The Mid Sussex Times approached the club after hearing some players had Covid symptoms and they confirmed the affected players are self-isolating and will not be involved with the club until they have gone through the self-isolation period.

Eight other games in the FA Cup have been cancelled because of players testing positive - including Haywards Heath Town's trip to Broadbridge Heath. Arundel's league match with Billingshurst was also called off this week.

And the club issued the following statement regarding some players in the squad having COVID-19 symptoms. They said: "As you know the guidelines set out by the FA and NHS are quite stringent, but it is the individual who receives a positive test result who has to take action to self-isolate and follow the advice from the NHS Track & Trace system.

"The players are doing that and will not be in any way involved with the Club until they have gone through the required self-isolation period and been tested free of the infection.

"This doesn't affect our FA Cup game on Saturday, though out of courtesy we have advised our opponents.

"As for the Club, we put in place our risk assessment system (see website) before the Pre-season friendlies. As always, the stadium, the dressing rooms and refreshment areas are deep cleaned after every match.

"We will direct public attention to this via our Twitter feed. "
