Goals from Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek took the Blues to a routine Premier League victory.

Ryan said afterwards: "They had their shooting boots on tonight and it's disappointing.

"We managed to hang in first half and make it somewhat difficult for them but they got their goal not long before half-time and the second half they came out and the little opportunities that you give them, they've got the quality to punish us. That's what they did in the end."

Chelsea's goals from Hazard and Loftus-Cheek came when they were afforded too much time on the edge of the penalty area and Ryan said: "The two goals in the second half they're picking up the ball and have a little bit too much time and space. When you give any player time and space that's when they can hurt you.

"When you press them and make things difficult for them that's when they have difficulties.

"They're human at the end of the day. More often than maybe other individuals they're able to do a little bit of skill, work situations and create opportunities for themselves which is what separates the great players from the good players.

"They've got lots of great players and when you give them that little bit of extra time and space they've got the quality to punish you and that's what they did tonight."
