Chi City and Pagham keep up premier pressure

Chichester City and Pagham consolidated their third and fourth spots in the SCFL premier with fine victories.

Goals by Jamie Horncastle, Lorrenzo Dolcetti and Omar Barry earned Miles Rutherford's City a 3-1 success at Broadbridge Heath, who got a late consolation through Dan Wright.

Chi remain five points behind leaders Shoreham, while Pagham are three points clear in fourth place after a 2-0 win over Loxwood - their third victory in eight days - courtesy of goals by George Cody and George Bingham.

Both our local division-one sides failed to build on big away wins last week as they slipped to defeats.

Selsey crashed to a 4-0 defeat at top side Saltdean while Midhurst put up a good fight at home to East Preston but lost 2-1 - Anthony Kirby their scorer.

Bosham march on at the top of division two thanks to a 4-1 home win over Alford. Louis Bell, Bradley Miles, James Colinese and Marco Giambelardini were on target. The Robins are eight points clear of Jarvis Brook in first place.

Sidlesham, who are third, won 3-1 at Westfield, their scorers being Tom Kelly and John Phillips (2).

In the West Sussex League premier division Lavant won 1-0 at Petworth.

In local rugby, Chichester crashed to a 33-5 defeat at Westcliff in National three London south east, while Bognor are bottom of London three south west after losing 42-5 away to Millbrook, who overtake them in the bottom two.
