Chichester City coach Kilpatrick - Postponements have been very frustrating

Chichester City coach Darin Kilpatrick admitted ‘it’s very frustrating’ after his team’s game against Haywards Heath Town was postponed on Tuesday.

The postponement means City still have three games in hand over the teams above them in the Betvictor South East table.

Kilpatrick said: “It’s very frustrating, just when we’re starting to get some momentum going.

“However, there are things you can and can’t control, and one thing we can’t control is the weather.”

Chichester won 3-1 at home to Sevenoaks Town on Saturday and are now six points outside the play-off places with three games in hand over fifth place Herne Bay.

However, Kilpatrick is confident his side won’t get carried away with the thought of promotion.

He added “We will take each week as it comes, we won’t get above our station, we’re enjoying the journey and we’ll see where it takes us.

"The fixture back log isn’t a worry for us. We’ll deal with whatever is thrown at us because that’s all you can do.

"We’ll make sure we’re rested and recovered the best we can.”

The Oaklands Park side are away to Sittingbourne this Saturday and Kilpatrick has no plans to change their approach heading into this game.

He said: “Our away performance hasn’t been too bad. We’ll go into it the way I always approach games, there won’t be any difference.

"We’ll keep continuing the philosophy we’re trying to build at the club, trying to build a style of play which takes time.

“Thankfully everyone is pretty fit, and we have no injuries. Gicu Iordache is back from Romania which is good.”
