Chichester City Girls win county cup
With the sun shining, the game started well and was very competitive from the first whistle. Both teams were trying to play football and a lot was being played through the centre of midfield.

Hide AdIt was a tight game few chances. Chichester had a few corners which they looked threatening from but Bournemouth managed to clear their lines.
Chichester, playing out from the back, kept the ball well and had constant pressure on the Bournemouth defence, who needed to make some strong tackles to keep them at bay.
It was clear Bournemouth were going to play on the counter attack and on 30 minutes they looked like they might have nicked the lead with a chance on the break only for the final shot to go wide.

Hide AdPlayer of the match Charlie Davey then played a beautiful through ball to striker Amelia Hammond, who slotted the ball home just before half-time to give Chichester a 1-0 lead into the break.
Chichester came out at the start of the second half strongly and forced an early free-kick outside the area. Davey stepped up and smashed it into the roof of the net, giving the keeper no chance and making it 2-0 to Chichester.
Changes were made by both teams and Chichester continued to press high and cause problems with their keeper a spectator at times as Bournemouth struggled to make any headway.

Hide AdBournemouth had a couple of long-range efforts but they didn’t trouble Millie Delamont in the Chichester goal. Chichester were solid throughout and deserved their 2-0 final score and the trophy and title.
