St Mary’s went in front in the 15th minute capitalising on a mistake at the back. The hosts might have equalised 20 minutes later but were denied by the woodwork before the away side extended their lead with a lucky goal when a header crashed against the post and went in off a player on the line.

It might have been 3-0 in the next attack as another ball came in from the left only for the St Mary’s striker to head his effort on to the bar. The visitors grabbed their third goal early in the second half when Jack Mason’s cross was turned in by an unmarked teammate.
