Chris Hughton delighted with Brighton's 2018

The Seagulls kept their place in the Premier League for a second season and sit 13th in the table this campaign around.

Hughton also praised how the under-23 and ladies teams progressed during the past 12 months and on the year as a whole said: "I have to be delighted. In a first season for the club in the Premier League, the only ambition really apart from development of this football club, was to stay in the division.

"We managed to do that in a good way. Overall for where we are I think we've started quite well this season.

"We've seen players develop and come through.

"We've got an under-23 team that have done really well this season and an academy that is doing well and a ladies team that is plying their trade in the top division.

"Overall it's been a good year for us."
