Clubs seeking more of the same

Rye United and Sidley United will be eager to continue their winning starts to the season tonight (Tuesday).

Sidley go to Crowborough Athletic and Rye are away to AFC Uckfield in Division One of the Sussex County Football League. Both matches will kick-off at 7.45pm.

Rye are likely to field the same starting line-up as that which won 2-0 at Horsham YMCA on Saturday. Jono Richardson and Liam Upton were due to return from a summer of coaching in the United States this morning.

Sidley could also be unchanged following their 1-0 victory at Three Bridges. Marc Munday is back from suspension and Terry Payne may well come into the squad with Kevin Bird on holiday.

Last season’s Division Two champions Uckfield ran out 3-0 winners at Chichester City on Saturday, while Crowborough lost 4-2 away to another newly-promoted side in Lancing.

Little Common will be out to pick up their first points in Division Two away to a Hailsham Town side relegated from Division One last term for ground grading reasons.

A Common side rebuilding following a host of summer departures lost 2-1 at Southwick on Saturday, while Hailsham drew 1-1 at home to Littlehampton Town. Kick-off is also 7.45pm.

The results will appear on this website tomorrow morning.
