Weather permitting, Bexhill are scheduled to host Ringmer and Common are away to Seaford Town in round one of the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup.

Both games are all-Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One affairs and at stake for the winners is a potential second round tie against one of the county’s bigger clubs.

Bexhill are one place and two points above Ringmer in the league having played three fewer matches, although the Pirates haven’t won any of their last six matches in all competitions.

The game will have a bit of added spice because Bexhill recently signed Jordan Woodley from Ringmer and striker Dominic Clarke turned down a seven-day approach from Bexhill in favour of joining Ringmer from Eastbourne United AFC.

Ringmer have several other locally-based players so although the clubs are around 40 miles apart, the tie will have a bit of a derby feel to it. Kick-off at The Polegrove is 7.45pm.

Common will seek to continue their good record in the cups this season against a Seaford side which they saw off 7-0 at the corresponding stage of last year’s competition en route to a third round meeting with Eastbourne Borough.

Eighth-placed Common - who have won three of their four cup matches during the current campaign - are seven positions and seven points above Seaford in the league with a game in hand. Kick-off at The Crouch is 7.30pm.
